“I like the Herbalife products…Is there a way I can work with you and keep my Herbalife business?”

I was flabbergasted. Could she be so blind? This was NOT the talk of a business owner.

Her application form was sitting in front of me. She clearly stated that her Herbalife business was costing her. It was there in black and white pixels on my screen–she wanted to own a super-car and live the good life.

And three years after starting her MLM business, Lauren was worse off than when she started. She paid by neglecting her kids and with her sweat as she shelled out thousands of dollars in business costs.

Why? To buy a product.

“Didn’t you want to be a business owner? Didn’t you want to build your MLM to MAKE money?” I asked.

“Yes,” she replied.

“You talk like a customer now. What does liking the Herbalife product have to do with profit?”

“You’re right,” she replied. “Somewhere along the way I lost sight of what I wanted. I’m sick of losing, I want to make money for a change.”

Lauren ended up enrolling with me and she went on to build a profiting business–all it took was a simple change in what she was doing. I will share that change with you so that you too can learn to effortlessly enroll all the distributors you want.

The Single Mistake MLM Distributors Make, Even Though They Know Better

Sadly, most MLM distributors don’t have a clue when it comes to marketing.

They have been so sold on their company and their product that they blindly regurgitate numbers and quotes about how great their company is to anyone with a credit card and a warm breath. And they do it the same, over, and over, every single time without realising a pattern.

Did you know that there are 6 kinds of MLM leads you can choose to target when promoting your own MLM online? Distributors only know TWO kinds–the opportunity seeker and the product user.

I remember in my own company’s corporate training we were taught never to try to sell the products or business separate from one another.

“The product and opportunity go hand-in-hand and should be presented as a package, together.”

What is more stupid is that I followed that advice like a sheep. It took me 18 months before I finally challenged it. And it took Lauren 3 years.

Each kind of prospect wants solutions and answers to different things.

For example, the current Network Marketer wants training and successful mentors they can imitate and learn from. They want tutorials to help them generate MLM leads, sponsor distributors, make product sales, and earn a profit.

Was it possible for Lauren to make sales to them and recruit them? — YES!

But Lauren didn’t know how. MLM distributors try to recruit other MLM distributors by pitching the compensation plan. Can you see why that approach doesn’t work? People aren’t dumb. Current Network Marketers are stuck on Square 1: They need prospects and leads, not more circles on paper.

Compensation Plans only mean something AFTER you have found a prospect, presented to them, sold them, and enrolled them.

An Opportunity Seeker, on the other hand, is looking for a simple business they can start with pennies, risk nothing, and make buckets of cash rain from the sky. Could Lauren make sales to them and recruit them? — YES!

Another kind of prospect trembles when he tries to hold a pen in his hand and his arthritis is agonising. He doesn’t like the feeling of nails driving into his knuckles. He wants to wake up tomorrow with joints that work. Can Lauren sell him a nutrition product? — YES!

Then why did she spend 3 years unable to sell or recruit enough to profit?

How Lauren Finally Got Prospects Who Put Their Credit Card In Her Hand And Begged Her To Bill Them For Opportunity And Product

I’ve given three examples of different kinds of prospects you might encounter when building your own MLM business. I’ve explained the problems those prospects want solved.

But did you know, that these prospects will pay just about anything for a solution?

We all know this and I made this point to Lauren. But for your sake, let me make it “hair-splitting” sharp by asking:

“Is it wise to vomit up the same sales pitch to all three groups of prospect?”

If we focus their attention 100% on the single solution they need right now, without straying on to tell them about the visionary founders of our company, they would pay anything for what we have.

Lauren herself was losing money for three years. She had read through my 28 page sales letter on my website. Not once did my page mentioned the company name, products, or compensation plan.

Despite that, she was bursting with excitement–she phoned part-way through reading the sales letter, hardly able to speak. She wanted to work with me. Even my high start-up cost didn’t stop her.

I am telling you there are SIX categories of MLM lead. And what do MLM distributors do? They blab out to anyone with a credit card and a breath the SAME 50 minute flip-chart presentation–or they drag their body-bagged prospects into hotel meetings where someone else does it for them.

They wonder why their distributors don’t enroll anyone.

They wonder why their distributors don’t make sales.

They wonder why their distributors phone them after 3 months of dodging calls to ask for a refund.

It’s no secret: The hotel meetings are a waste of time if you keep dragging in the wrong prospect.

Lauren learned to identify every kind of prospect and to find out what they are looking for. She offers them exactly the solution they want. Then she sells them on only the products or services that solve that problem.

How To Bait, Hook, and Bag The Hungriest Prospects

Objections are excuses people make when they find something about you or your product unattractive. “Unattracted” prospects don’t buy. Convincing them is a waste of time.

The problem Lauren had was that she didn’t know how to read her prospect’s mind. It is difficult to find out which kind of prospect she had, what problem they wanted solved, and what would stimulate them to buy.

Instead, Lauren decides first what kind of prospect she’s in the mood to talk to right now. She baits her prospects with words–compelling words perfectly placed and chosen to attract the type of prospect she wants to talk to right now.

Yes, notice I said, “She attracts the prospect she WANTS to talk to right now.” These people come right to her doorstep without any objections. But these are little fishies who are just curious for now.

Lauren waits for the prospect to raise their hand to tell her they want answers.

She gently plugs them into a marketing process that automatically shares her answers. The prospect swims in circles getting more and more curious, and as they swirl around in the marketing machine–reading hundreds of word-baits they begin to have an urgent desire to take a bite.

Some baits excite them more than others. Lauren leaves it up to the prospect, in their own time, to let her know which solutions makes them bubble with excitement.

If they move toward the chocolate cake, Lauren serves up one after the other, each more beautifully crafted than the next, drizzling in chocolaty icing.

If they move toward the pie, she stacks warm pies under their noses and surrounds them with the fruity aroma.

Depending on how hungry they are, the prospect can’t resist any more–they jump on the cake or pie and take their first bite–and a sale is made.

Systems ROCK because they can be cloned. They give the same predictable result every time–just like when you push the light-switch in your bedroom. The result is always the same: the light turns on.

A good online MLM marketing system enrolls distributors and makes sales whether it was me, you, or your mail-man who put them through. So if your current upline is convinced that “one-fits-all” IS a solution, tell them where to go.
